Prosperity Connection exists to improve the standard of living and better the lifestyle of St. Louisans through a number of innovative financial education and service programs. And while the bulk of our activities are focused on providing free group classes and one-on-one coaching sessions to clients, we have remained committed to supporting the academic aspirations of adult students through our Janice Mosby Scholarship Program.
The Janice Mosby Scholarship Program, first launched in 2011, has funded 24, $2,500 awards to deserving adult students, aged 23 or older. That’s $60,000 in financial support to individuals pursuing degree programs in accounting, education, social work, nursing, and more! We know that the pursuit of education is not only time intensive, but it can be costly. For adults who are busy with their families, jobs, and community activities, setting aside the time and financial resources to complete a post-secondary degree can be out of reach for many. That’s why we have continued our support of this critical program, so deserving adult students can have an extra boost to achieve their academic dreams.
In 2019, Prosperity Connection is proud to offer two, $2,500 awards. Adult students, who attend a two or four-year institution of higher learning in the Greater St. Louis Area are eligible to apply for funds that can cover tuition, fees, and other expenses (as approved by Prosperity Connection). We are, once again, working in partnership with Scholarship Central to bring this opportunity to the community.

Janice Mosby was a teacher and principal in the St. Louis Public Schools for more than 30 years. With a kind heart and gentle spirit, she dedicated her life to helping students in the community develop to their fullest potential. In addition to her career in education, Ms. Mosby served on St. Louis Community Credit Union’s Board of Directors for 40 years, and also as a Board member for Prosperity Connection® (formerly St. Louis Community CU Foundation) until her passing in late 2010.
To honor her memory, Prosperity Connection® launched the Janice Mosby Scholarship Fund to provide much needed financial assistance to adult students, aged 23 years or older, who are pursuing a two-year or four-year post-secondary degree. Since 2011, a total of $50,000 has been awarded to 22 deserving adult students.
