Prosperity Connection was founded in 2009 as a direct response to community needs. It was apparent that many in the St. Louis region lacked sufficient, reliable, and safe access to vital financial resources and opportunities. Prosperity Connection offers financial education and coaching services to fill that need.
In January 2020, we launched St. Louis Builds Credit (STLBC), which offered classes, credit report reviews, and public credit wellness events. Over time, STLBC evolved to also represent a cross-sector alliance of organizations working collaboratively to improve credit, increase savings, and expand access to trusted financial resources across the region. Today, our two core services are referred to as our Financial Education program and our Financial Coaching program, while the STLBC Alliance continues to grow as a coordinated referral network informed by our proprietary Life Cycle of a Client framework.
Over the last 15+ years, our organization has evolved from primarily place-based, brick-and-mortar service delivery to a flexible model that includes virtual offerings and expanded partnerships across the region. This shift allows our team to meet clients where they are — both online and within community-based partner spaces. While we have adapted in many ways, a few things remain constant: our services are always free to the public, delivering high-quality experiences is our top priority, and we remain best-in-class in financial education.
