Hope knows how confusing – and sometimes scary – it can be trying to manage your money.
“If there was a mistake I could make with my money, I’ve probably done it. Sometimes more than once. Maxed out credit cards, student debt, unable to pay the bills, thousands of dollars in debt, cashing out a 401 early, loan denials, lousy credit score – I’ve had all of it. I really struggled to recover financially – and emotionally too – because it really does a number on how you feel about yourself. About what you’re worth.”
Those experiences eventually led Hope into her role as a Financial Education Coach. But she’ll be the first to tell you she’s not a money guru. Instead she refers to herself as a money ‘Explorer’ who’s spent the past 15 years trying to forge a path through the mysterious world of personal finance in order to make it less confusing and scary for everyone, starting with herself. Having been there herself, Hope is able to talk frankly and honestly about money and break it down into language and examples that can make sense for you.
Her goal is to help you create a money plan that works for you that starts right where you’re at and uses what you have. In fact, that is Hope’s favorite advice, a quote from Arthur Ashe, which she keeps on her mirror to remind herself every day:
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
